The Linguistics of Temperature 2010 Workshop
A two day conference on the linguistics of temperature, the growing place of temperature term research in the fields of lexical and semantic typology and the need for more study of this fascinating topic.

Who
The conference committee consists of Maria Tamm, Magnus Sahlgren and Susanne Vejdemo.
We have the pleasure to announce that Marina Rakova, Asifa Majid, Srini Narayanan, Ekaterina Rakhilina and Frans Plank will be plenary speakers at the conference.
The presence of these eminent scholars will strengthen the connection between the lexical typology research on temperature domain and a) related perception domains and the advances in lexical typology, b) the greater issues in theoretical linguistics (such as the debate regarding cognitive metaphors) and c) cross-disciplinary research into language philosophy, neurophysiology a -psychology, the cognitive sciences and anthropology.
